For Monday night:

GB +1.5

Like Akili Smith fighting for the 3rd spot in GB here. Panther has a good write-up on the game in his post, and says Akili will be last in the rotation, so he should do some damage late against the KC scrubs on D. GB has a big edge with veteran QBs here (Pederson also very experienced), Favre may be retiring soon, so you bet your ass these QBs will be out to show what they got. Only question I have is why the heavy line movement on KC?

Slight lean on the over here, but probably won't play it. GB should be able to light up the scoreboard, and it will be interesting to see how Larry Johnson performs in his first NFL game. Should be a high scoring affair, but the posted line of 35 is a little scary.

will also be looking to take GB in the 2nd half, depending on how the first half goes. Same reasons as above...

Good luck tomorrow guys.

drunk - Having been in Wisconsin over the weekend, I think the line move is in part due to the Packers injuries. Not making an opinion on this game, but I don't think the injuries matter that much because the starters weren't going to play much anyway.

But the Pack will be without Driver and Ferguson at wr, Clifton and Tauscher on the off. line, a few db's, etc.

Again, I'm not sure this should be dictating the line movement but I believe it is.

I also think it has a lot to do with what Dick Vermeil told the press. He stated that he is very excited about this HOF game and is preparing for the game. On the other side of the coin Farve does intend on scoring so expect a high 1st quarter. Does not seem like Sherman is that interested in this game however the QB's for GB will be playing hard to display their talent because Farve will retire after this year. Big question mark, will KC be able to come back if Farve scores twice. Brett made a statement that he wants to move the ball and score three times in the Green Bay Chronicle. This game is tricky, I am playing the over and I will play the 1st quarter side (Green Bay). I took TB 1st half -1 and TB 2nd half +0.5 when their D was playing so good and TB was getting ball. (2-0 preseason)

Thanks for the input guys. I look for 2nd half to be big for GB here. 1st half can go either way in my opinion.

good luck on your picks tonight guys

For 8/7 Thurs:

NYG +120

feel giants have better depth at both RB and QB here. NE will be playing rookie corners and shuffling up the defense a bit. Giants looking to throw and the QB vs secondary matchup seems favorable. Moneyline is the play here, +2.5 isn't worth taking in my opinion.

Also, lean on the over for same reasons as above.

Good luck tonight guys, will be posting the weeknds picks tonight or early tomorrow...

Weekend picks:

Will be in AC at the tables all weekend and won't be posting. Have a bunch of plays for the weekend:

Det +1
MAriucci's debut and some decent QB depth (esp. Detmer at 3rd) for Det. They will look to start on a winning note, especially at home. Pit looking thin at RB, but may leave Batch in a bit longer than expected, which could work against us.

Min -3
Jags working a new offensive scheme which may give them a shaky start in their debut. Slight QB edge to Minnesota, Jax may get Brunell out after first series and Leftwich is still unsigned. Min also still looking for RB to replace Bennet, so expect some extra effort out of the rushing game. Lean on the under here also.

Car +120
Tough going against Spurrier here, but also tough to not play on a home dog in preseason. QB rotation about even, but I give the edge to CAR here unless Ramsey stays in extra long.

SD +3 -115
With Hassleback and Dilfer both expected to be limited by injury, big edge to SD here on the QB front. Brees and Flutie should be able to do some damage early. Marty has been cracking down hard in practice, and that will show on the field.

DAL -3 -120
Parcells is highly motivated and always looking for a win even in preseason. His enthusisasm should motivate the team (as well as Emmitt's comments). Parcells coaching and pushing the players in order to evaluate them should win this one.

KC -4
Trent Green may play all of 1st in the chief's 2nd game. Garcia is out, so Rattay will have to contend with the chief's D who gave Favre trouble last week. Expect another solid efort from the chiefs here.

lean on Cle, depending on the QB rotation.

Good luck this weekend guys and enjoy the games.
